On November 15th and 16th, I was invited to a symposium event organized by “Plataforma Vertices” that aims to connect and help facilitate exchange and possible future collaborations between sectors that have a focus on sustainability and ocean preservation projects.
During this 2-days event, I was asked to create an artwork based on a theme that scientists and the organization picked up :
“The colors of Mediterranea”
Recent research pointed out that the color of the oceans is progressively changing from “blue to green” as a result of human activities.
I worked on an illustrated poster that symbolizes this unbalance in the aquatic ecosystems and some of the actions that are causing it.
One of my inspiration for the concept of this digital painting was the “Hollywood movie posters” . I used this visual approach in the composition of elements to denounce and play with a” sensational aspect” of the information.
Treat this subject like a box office movie would do to impact people in another way when speaking about ecology and issues that are facing our oceans.
